How many of my guests can the River Inn accommodate?
The River Inn has 56 Rooms available with a variety of
configurations. Your Guests can choose from King, Twin, 3 share, 4
share to 5 share Family rooms. Alternatively we also have adjoining
(interconnecting) rooms for loads of space!
Should your guest list exceed our maximum, we are happy to
recommend close alternative accommodation for your guests.
Is there easily accessible transport options between the
River Inn and the location of the Ceremony?
Depending upon where you have your ceremony, we can arrange
various transport options for you. Pre-arranged Shuttle buses can
deliver your guests to the chapel, or to the chairlifts that will
then take you to the top of Australia.
Is there plenty of parking available for my guests,
including band members and other wedding service providers?
Thredbo has 4 main parking areas, Overnight parking bays P1,
P2, P3 & P4 are all located within very easy walking distance
of the River Inn.
Over the summer months, plenty of parking is available
directly opposite (other side of the street) to the River Inn.
Please advise your guests that they are most welcome to park
in the driveway to check in and unload their luggage, this makes
parking the car much easier.
Is there somewhere safe that I can store my bouquet and/or
cake - where it will be out of danger until the ceremony?
We have extensive kitchen facilities with in the River Inn
which includes an industrial cold room. Your bouquet and/or cake
will be safe here and keeping them cold will also ensure they are
looking their best.
We do recommend having the flowers delivered on the day to
ensure that they are fresh and at their most stunning. We can
suggest florists to assist.
I want to set a theme for my wedding, can the River Inn
accommodate a Themed Wedding?
The River Inn will be happy to accommodate a theme,
snowflakes are a popular choice for the region. Unfortunately we
must limit the way in which decorations are displayed, draping
fairy lights or flowers is beautiful, however putting nails in the
walls is a big no no.
Will there be a friendly and knowledgeable manager or
coordinator on hand to provide that last minute iron or safety pin,
Scotch tape, or even just a word of encouragement that always seem
to help?
The Functions Manager of the River Inn will be on hand
throughout your weekend to ensure that everything runs smoothly for
your big day. All of the staff at the River Inn will be more than
happy to help out wherever they can.
Is there an easily accessible outdoors area for the
smokers in my group?
The River Inn can accommodate for smokers during your
reception, although the lodge itself is a non smoking lodge and
smoking will not be permitted with in the lodge rooms. If there are
smokers within your group we urge them to request a balcony room at
the time of booking.
Is there a suitable babysitting service in the area that
we can use within the River Inn for the guests at our wedding?
There are year round babysitting options within Thredbo.
Please speak to the Staff at the River Inn to find out which
options will suit your requirements.
Is there visual equipment that we can use during our
reception should we want to have a tasteful slideshow of our lives?
All of our function rooms have TV/DVD facilities available
for your use. We also have a portable projector should you wish to
set up a larger visual display.
Are there adequate CD facilities available if I don’t want
live music or if my live music takes a break?
All of our function rooms have audio facilities which are
available to you. We recommend using an iPod & playlists. The
Functions Manager is happy to assist with operating the audio
system at appropriate intervals over the ceremony (e.g. Entrance,
Dinner, Cake Cutting, First Dance).
We are happy to liaise with the MC on the day – to
co-ordinate timings etc. If you don’t have a musician in mind –
this is a fabulous alternative to live music!!! Bands are most
welcome too – of course!
